Witchita-ta-ta
Mike had his first job interview this past week. He received an offer two days later. We have until Nov. 3 to give them our answer. Great, huh???? The only problem is Mike hasn't had any time to follow up with other companies and so he doesn't have other interviews going right now, so we don't really know our options. Oh, and if you couldn't tell from the title, the offer was from Witchita, Kansas. Hawker Beechcraft is the company. They make private jets and small planes. Mike really enjoyed being in Witchita, he likes the homes, the people, he really likes the company and would enjoy working on small planes. We'd make what sounds like nothing, but it's the equivalent of $100,000 in the LA area, so you can guess how cheap cost of living is in Witchita-ta-ta. And the best part--We have Caleb calling the city Witchita-ta-ta. It's really fun to say. You should try it.

natalie! how exciting! well, i know that melissa (wong) lingenbrink lived in kansas for a while and loved it there! maybe she can give some tips about living there! :)
I've lately been doing a LOT of research into best areas to raise a family, and you'll be pleased to hear Witchita-ta-ta makes the top 100 Best Family Cities! (Don't know where in the top hundred, but it was featured in a great book I've got from the libray). Good luck guys!
I was hoping to be neighbors in SLC, but I guess I could come visit you guys in KS. I've never been to KS before. We'll sure miss you guys- I wish we could all live in AA forever together!
inexpensive is always nice. but it is kansas, the most boring stretch of the drive west :)
Good luck in your decision. Kate Anderson told me you guys were interviewing there. How did that one go?
Congrats to Mike for getting the job offer (and so quickly!) You guys are in our prayers, good luck making your choice!
Pick Wichita - only 90 min away Ponca City. Beautiful city, easy to get around, not too bad traffic, good house prices, nice people - whats not to like?
Exciting news! Looks like we're in it together on the tornadoes!! Just wish it could have been Wichita Falls which is only about 2-3 hours from us. Tell Mike I'm sad he didn't find a job in Dallas, but if you would have asked me last year I would have said in Sacramento!!
Good luck with all the decisions and how far will you be from the Wimmers?
Kansas is amazing!! Your kids will be fantastic people for growing up there (well not to say they wouldn't be anyway, but I'm just a little bit biased)
And it's true, Melissa did live there for awhile. She lived in my home ward in Olathe actually, so what was there not to love :)
(I think she spent some time in Topeka as well-but we won't focus on that part). As for the "most boring stretch of the drive west"..Ummmm hello you won't live on the Interstate, therefore who cares how boring everything is West of Topeka (plus Wichita is way south of all of that anyway).
